A pars pro toto is a figure of speech where a part is used to represent the whole. This literary device is used to create emphasis or to simplify complex ideas by focusing on a specific aspect. For example, saying "all hands on deck" to mean that everyone is needed to help, or referring to a car as "wheels" are both examples of pars pro toto. **

I have seen news articles and headlines that discriminate against certain racial or ethnic groups, such as using derogatory language or perpetuating negative stereotypes. Additionally, I have come across articles that discriminate against individuals based on their gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. These articles can perpetuate harmful biases and contribute to the marginalization of certain groups in society. It is important to be critical of the media we consume and to advocate for more inclusive and respectful representation in news coverage. **
