“Clueless” star Stacey Dash’s endorsement of Mitt Romney has sparked vicious online attacks and racist comments against the actress.
The 46-year-old tweeted her endorsement of the Republican presidential candidate alongside a picture of herself in a patriotic swimsuit with the caption, “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future.”
Hateful comments and tweets started flooding in almost immediately, with many citing race as an issue. “You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney,” chided a critic on Twitter. “You’re voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot.”
Dash was hit with a slew of offensive comments and called derogatory names, but the actress stood by her endorsement, tweeting, “My humble opinion…EVERYONE is entitled to one.”
Dash also retweeted the following from Mitt Romney, “Women have had enough of @BarackObama’s disappointment. We need new leadership to get our economy growing again.”
