The 63-year-old businessman was rushed to hospital when he fell ill at his company’s headquarters in Darlington.
A spokesperson for the Bannatyne Group said this afternoon: “Everyone at the company is relieved that tests have confirmed Duncan’s health scare was not a heart attack.
“He is now to spend a few days recuperating from his chest pains away from the stresses of his busy life.
“He has asked us to thank the many hundreds of people who have contacted him to express their good wishes and support and to thank the dedicated staff at Darlington Memorial Hospital for the kindness and care.”
Bannatyne himself then announced on Twitter: “All tests proved I am human so I have been released. On way home to rest. Thanks for the get well wishes.”
The message was retweeted by the official Dragons’ Den profile, which yesterday wished him a speedy recovery on behalf of everyone on the show.
